For foodies out there. I’ve been watching the Amazon Black Friday sales for sous vide kit, cos I thought it is just the kind of thing they would have.
They have the Bluetooth model, which they have listed with a RRP of £119, but regularly sells for £99; Black Friday price is £63.74. Amazon are calling that a 46% saving, but even from the regular price it is a 36% saving, which is pretty good.
They also have the newer Bluetooth/Wifi model, which has been selling for £139 and is now reduced to 89%, a saving of 35%.
The more expensive item is a bit more powerful, which means it will heat a container of cold water up quicker. The Wifi capability means you can control it anywhere, not just within Bluetooth reach of your kitchen. It also theoretically includes Alexa support.
However, British users have been waiting for the Alexa skill to arrive in the UK for over a year, and there is no indication it ever will (it was even withdrawn in the States for a while, due to problems)
So, unusually for me, I am going with the less-featured model. It is still fully controllable from a smartphone, as well as controls on the device itself.
