Everdine: Morrocan Chicken Tagine

My first Everdine frozen meal. Straight out of the freezer, into the microwave – 8 minutes with a stir half-way through; and 1 minute to stand.

I’d mentioned earlier that, on the website, many of the cooked dishes looked quite attractive even still in the carton. That wasn’t quite the case with this, although nor did it look awful. Just a bit of a mess, as you might suspect from a couscous dish. However, when transferred to a bowl, it was an appetising plateful.

The chicken element was clearly a whole chicken breast – although sliced, it was positioned in the carton in one piece, and when I dished it up, I could see nice grill marks. Also grill marks on the baby courgettes and aubergines – I am not a fan of aubergine, but these were small, sweet and delicious. The chicken actually tasted of chicken (it’s a real shame that, in these times, this is worthy of comment) – really nice, and the courgettes were not overcooked. All in all, it was a very pleasant lunch, and a good first experience.
