Pass the chianti

2014-06-26 17.41.06Looks like no matter what else I am eating this week, it will be with a side order of fava beans. Unless, that is, I blanch and freeze them.

    Have just been watching TV while taking the beans out of the pods. I’m through with cooking tonight, so will blanch them tomorrow, remove the outer skin, then freeze them, leaving a couple of portions to eat over the weekend.

    I recently threw away the last of my sugar snap peas, because I left them unpicked for too long, and they tasted of earth – and not in a good way. But these fava beans, I have been nibbling raw, and they are delicious.
